Why CBD?

Why CBD?

I want to start off with the simple fact that CBD is legal worldwide,

it is the main substance found in the least processed form of the cannabis plant known as Industrial Hemp.

Hemp and marijuana come from the same plant, Cannabis sativa L., but they are hereditarily different.

Fun Fact: this is considered one of the oldest domesticated crop and George Washington so happen to grow the plant at Mt. Vernon.

Where hemp is naturally high in CBD the reverse is true about cannabis and THC. This is the area I see the most confusion about when it comes to these well known cannabinoids. Cannabis is grown for it’s flowering buds or THC extraction while hemp is grown for other purposes including the manufacture of materials like Dr. Bronner’s hemp hygiene products (that I love very much), PrAna’s Men’s hemp clothing line, and Nutiva produces hemp-seed oil. CBD is said to be THC free or very low in THC containing somewhere around 0.3%-1.5%, while cannabis is known to be far more potent containing about 5%-10% or more.

Extracted hemp oil contains an extensive list of naturally occurring vitamins and B complexes like riboflavin. Aswell as omegas + essential amino acids (even the 9 aminos our body cannot make on its own). Hemp oil is so rich in a complex mix of cannabinoids, essential nutrients healthy fats, protein, and fiber, it makes for quite the unique choice in daily use of supplements.

Eating the right kind of Omega 6 fatty acids (like GLA), a plant based Omega 6 [found in hemp oil] can reduce the negative effects of high fat diets. Both CBDa + CBD shows it’s benefits through its interaction with the body’s native endocannabinoid system.

Cannabinoids in hemp oil work together in the ‘entourage effect’ to provide their balancing effects. When we view hemp oil as a complete dietary supplement, we then begin to see the value beyond being a source of CBD 🌿

The problem for many people who are advocating the use of CBD oil is that there is still the public perception that any cannabis-related product or chemical is being used to get the person high. However, that is far from true. CBD (a non-psychoactive) and THC (the chemical in cannabis that gets users high) are different in many ways, and CBD does NOT result in getting high.” (CBDfx)

Formally known as cannibidol, it is one of many (115 to be exact) cannabinoid molecules produced by cannabis. THC is the principal psychoactive component of cannabis with selective list of medical uses where CBD is responsible for playing the non-psychoactive part that comes with a range of medical uses and applications.

CBD is said to have anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and analgesic, Anxiolytic, and anti-psychotic properties, as well as therapeutic value with motivational disorders like depression, anxiety, and addiction.

After more and more research being conducted it is being considered a “miracle compound” regarding high success rates in treatment with all types of epileptic seizure conditions. Medically, marijuana is treating millions of Americans and helping them get their minds, lives, and bodies back; while hemp has unlimited potential in the industrial and agricultural trade.

Cannabidiol influences cannabinoid receptors and a wide range of receptors in the brain and body; Adams et al, in 2007, showed cannabidiol had a strong agonist & inverse agonist response to an endocannabinoid receptors in the human body- CB1 & CB2. This relationship with indirect influence can increase the levels of the body’s own cannabinoids (known as endocannabinoids; ECS). CBD also interacts with dopamine receptors which is your motivation-building chemical, and also has the ability to target serotonin receptors (regulates mood/depression, anxiety) which is associated with a remarkable range of therapeutic possibilities

Evidence?

“Some cannabinoid agonists (WIN 55212-2, anandamide) have demonstrated, in experimental studies, to act as «ideal drugs» in the management of glaucoma, as they have been shown to have good tolerability after topical application, efficiently reduce intraocular pressure, and behave as neuroprotectors on retinal ganglion cells.”

Higher levels of CBD is your best bet at the most effective treatment for seizures tumors cancer, chronic pain, physiological and neurological disorders as well as ADHD. (IA)

Living toxin-free, as natural & organic as possible has it’s major benefits but indeed its tedious to take the time to learn, find and incorporate natural medicines or therapeutic agents like such into our lifestyles that have been at times- challenging, but most of all rewarding now and in the latter part of life.ooking at the studies that shows the behavioral and physiological effects with animals, this potentially provides us with a strong foundation of biological understanding.

Uses?

χ  Insomnia: What can those suffering from sleep disorders or restlessness do to aid in getting to sleep, staying asleep, and getting a restful sleep?

Sleeping pills? Drinking? A joint? Melatonin? etc..

Where these things may aid us on in the short term, they all come with their own side affects. Consider using CBD to increase restfulness and adequate sleeping while promoting calming and relaxing notions but note unlike CBD’s psychoactive counterparts THC, cannabidol is a non-sedative.

χ It appears that CBD oil can aid in relief for some of the most serious diseases like

Cancer, Diabetes, Lupus, Motor disorders, Nicotine addiction, Parkinson’s Disease, Chronic and neuropathic pain, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Osteoporosis.

χ A study that was conducted on rats found that CBD  reduced chronic inflammation and pain significantly, researchers suggest cannabidol can be a new treatment for chronic pain. CBD is already in use to treat fibromyalgia, and multiple sclerosis, known conditions to cause pain and/ or discomfort.

Application?

χ In result of the interaction process with CBD and our bodies it has many potential uses. CBD oil is taken orally, rubbed on the skin, and sometimes inhaled through vapor or more uncommonly used intravenously to produce its effects.
